Your Role

WSP is seeking a Maritime Senior Structural Engineer to join the Port & Maritime team based in the UK. As part of the team, you will complement the wide experience of a highly knowledgeable and dynamic team of Maritime experts based in the UK and across the globe. You will work alongside senior team members contributing to the technical delivery of a wide range of UK-based and international projects for a variety of clients, ranging from local authorities to private clients and international terminal operators. You will have the opportunity to provide input to all stages of the project lifecycle, from inception through design and construction, to demolition, recycling, and reuse. You will be working closely with Early Career Professionals (ECPs) in the Maritime team, providing guidance and leading the delivery of design calculations, technical specifications, reports, and other deliverables in accordance with Eurocodes, international standards, and client requirements. Travel to overseas projects may be required for short periods. You will work in a highly inclusive and dynamic environment where collaboration, enthusiasm, and empathy are highly valued. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design calculations, technical specifications, reports, and other deliverables for maritime structures, adhering to Eurocodes and client requirements.
  • Contribute to all stages of the project lifecycle, from inception through design and construction to demolition and reuse.
  • Collaborate with Early Career Professionals and junior staff; potentially lead a small team or a medium-sized project within a multi-disciplinary project.
  • Support inspections, surveys, and rehabilitation assignments; use engineering software such as LUSAS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, Robot, WALLAP, TEDDS, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Ensure quality outputs through strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

  • BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or related qualification
  • Chartered (ICE/IStructE or similar) or actively working towards
  • Experience in design and analysis for maritime and related structures
  • Knowledge of inspections, surveys, and rehabilitation projects
  • Proficient in engineering software (LUSAS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, Robot, WALLAP, TEDDS, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience leading a small team or a medium-sized project
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Personable, approachable, enthusiastic, and empathetic; collaborative and team-focused
  • Structured, disciplined, and well-organized
  • Interest in digitalisation and innovation
