Overview

We are seeking a Maritime Senior Structural Engineer to join the Port & Maritime team based in the UK. You will work with a highly knowledgeable team of Maritime experts and contribute to technical delivery for UK and international projects for clients ranging from local authorities to private clients and international terminal operators. You will be involved in all stages of the project lifecycle, from inception through design and construction to demolition, recycling, and reuse. You will guide Early Career Professionals in delivering design calculations, technical specifications, reports, and other deliverables in accordance with Eurocodes, international standards, and client requirements. Opportunities to travel for short periods on overseas projects may occur. We value collaboration, enthusiasm, and empathy, and you will broaden your skills with support from the team.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to technical delivery of maritime projects across UK and international clients.
  • Provide input across all project lifecycle stages from inception to demolition, recycling, and reuse.
  • Guide Early Career Professionals in design calculations, specifications, reports, and other deliverables per Eurocodes and standards.
  • Lead a small team or a medium-sized project within a multi-disciplinary project.
  • Collaborate with senior team members and other disciplines; ensure quality outputs and solutions.
  • Travel for short periods for overseas projects where required.

Qualifications

  • BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or related
  • Chartered (ICE/IStructE) or actively working towards
  • Experience in design and analysis of maritime and related structures
  • Knowledge of inspections, surveys, and rehabilitation assignments
  • Experience in engineering software (LUSAS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, Robot, WALLAP, TEDDS, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to check and produce quality technical outputs
  • Experience leading a small team or a medium-sized project
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Personable, approachable, enthusiastic, and empathetic
  • Commitment to collaboration, learning, and teamwork
  • Organised with a structured and consistent approach
  • Interest in digitalisation and innovation
