JOB TITLE: Senior Technical Application Specialist

LOCATION(S): Birmingham

SALARY: £70,929 - £80,000

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) minimum in our Birmingham office.

About this opportunity

We're looking to recruit a Senior Technical Application Specialist (TAS) to work in our International & CHAPS Lab providing payment options for all of our customers. Specifically, to support our new industry-leading International Payments Platform (IPP)!

Our strategic roadmap includes a Payments Industry product called Global Payments Plus (GPP). This product is being used to deliver key revenue streams as well as enable mandatory compliance. What follows is what you might find our TAS mostly doing, but your experience will flex depending on the team's needs, and your own aspirations. Responsibilities

  • Support the International & CHAPS Lab to provide payment options for customers.
  • Support the new International Payments Platform (IPP).
  • Work with Global Payments Plus (GPP) to deliver revenue streams and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with the team to adapt to evolving needs and opportunities.

What you’ll need

  • Experience with International SWIFT and Payments and have integrated 3rd Party packages, customized solutions, and implemented rules-based engineering.
  • All-around knowledge of the software development lifecycle, ideally within a modern Agile engineering function
  • In depth Hands-on configuration experience with Finastra Global Payplus (GPP) product to meet complex requirements
  • Good communication & teamwork skills
  • Good Problem-solving skills within a technical environment
  • Able to work with 3rd party supplier to drive defect management
  • You'll be able to support planning and implementing production changes
  • Develops product specifications while designing testing procedures and standards
  • Adept solutions designer and problem solver
  • Proven experience using these technologies would be advantageous: Java EE (J2EE), SQL, Oracle, Unix/Linux, MQ, WebSphere, UrbanCode
  • Experience in use of Agile tooling is essential
