Base pay range

A newly created senior role is available for an experienced software engineering leader to drive standards, capabilities, and technical strategy across a blended delivery model (internal teams, contractors, and a large offshore partner).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and influence software engineering standards across multiple product teams.
• Own and measure adherence to engineering best practices (not hands-on coding).
• Drive DevOps maturity and modern engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
• Manage outsourced delivery teams (20+ in maintenance, 10–20 in development).
• Address technical debt and platform modernisation (e.g., .NET version upgrades).
• Act as the accountable owner for engineering outcomes delivered by third parties.
• Support budget planning, vendor assessments, and candidate interviews.

Tech Environment

• Core stack: .NET and Angular
• Strong focus on DevOps, especially Azure DevOps adoption

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Background in financial services or insurance
• Former full-stack engineer, with recent (within 1–2 years) hands-on experience
• Proven leadership in hybrid delivery models (out­sourced/offshore, internal, contractors)
• Strong communication skills, able to simplify technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
