Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade A) – Newcastle. Hybrid working available, with the flexibility to work from home and collaborate in-office when needed. Responsibilities

  • Providing support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to customers
  • Proactive and commercial case management and progression
  • Supporting the Team Leader in ensuring the delivery of the team’s financial performance KPIs
  • Effective and thorough time recording
  • Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader and team members
  • Identifying cases ready for LOC, settlement and service within the team
  • Co-ordinating information collection to enable progression of cases
  • Managing a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
  • Co-ordinating progression of cases with internal and external parties
  • Drafting legal documentation including LOC and letters of instruction
  • Negotiating settlement and issuing/service of proceedings when required
  • Overseeing documentation and correspondence produced by the team
  • Advising the team on technical issues arising from cases

Essential Skills And Experience

  • Recent experience handling a caseload
  • 8+ years PQE or equivalent in clinical negligence
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel
  • Attention to detail and strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
  • Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
  • Flexible and committed to achieving results and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent client care skills
