Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade C - Southport) – location: Southport Hybrid. Hybrid working available with the flexibility to work from home and collaborate in-office when needed.

Join Our Clinical Negligence Team as a Grade C Solicitor (or Equivalent). We are seeking an NQ- Grade C Solicitor or equivalent to join our dynamic and supportive team, where your expertise will make a real difference. Our team has a strong reputation in clinical negligence and includes APIL, AvMA, and Law Society accredited specialists. You will work under supervision on a diverse caseload of clinical negligence cases, from inception through to trial, supporting Lawyers and Senior Lawyers and mentoring more junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for running an individual caseload
  • Providing support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients
  • Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team
  • Supporting the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring the delivery of the teams financial and performance KPIs
  • Effective and thorough time recording
  • Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members
  • Identifying and driving cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team
  • Ensuring relevant information is collected and collated to enable progression of the case
  • Managing a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
  • Co-ordinating the progression of cases with internal and external parties
  • Drafting of legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction
  • Negotiating settlement and issuing and service of proceedings if required
  • Litigation of claims as required
  • Overseeing documentation and correspondence produced by the team
  • Advising the team on technical issues arising from cases with support from the Team Leader/Head of Department

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Recent experience of handling a caseload
  • NQ-5 years PQE or equivalent experience working in Clinical Negligence
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills
  • Excellent IT skills especially in respect of Microsoft Office packages, Proclaim and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
  • Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
  • Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent client care skills
