Location: Southport – Hybrid working available with the flexibility to work from home and collaborate in-office when needed. We are seeking a NQ- Grade C Solicitor or equivalent to join our dynamic Clinical Negligence team. As a Grade C Solicitor, you will support Lawyers and Senior Lawyers in managing a diverse caseload of clinical negligence cases from inception through to trial. Working under supervision and in accordance with company policies and legal standards, you will take on delegated tasks, assist in settling cases, and contribute to the team’s success. You will also mentor and coach junior team members, helping to develop their skills and knowledge. Main Responsibilities for the role

  • Accountable for running an individual caseload
  • Provide support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients
  • Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team
  • Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs
  • Effective and thorough time recording

Responsible For

  • Discuss case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members
  • Identify and drive cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team
  • Work with the team to ensure relevant information is collected and collated to enable case progression
  • Manage a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
  • Co‑ordinate the progression of cases with all internal and external parties
  • Draft legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction
  • Negotiate settlement and issue and service proceedings if required
  • Litigate claims as required
  • Oversee the documentation and correspondence produced by the team
  • Advise the team on any technical issues arising from their cases with support from the Team Leader/Head of Department

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Recent experience of handling a case load
  • 5 years PQE or equivalent experience working in Clinical Negligence
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills
  • Excellent IT skills especially in respect of Microsoft Office packages, Proclaim and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
  • Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
  • Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent Client Care Skills
