Job description: The Grant Thornton Digital Audit Team provides best‑in‑class digital products, services and skills to enable the auditors of the future to set the industry benchmark for professional services firms. By leveraging digital, data and technology opportunities, we aim to be the number one practice for audit quality, client service and operational excellence.The Digital Audit Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Digital Audit solutions within the organisation. The role involves defining the architecture, creating solution designs and ensuring successful delivery of projects. The Solutions Architect will work closely with the Development Team, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to ensure delivery of high‑quality software solutions.

Open to all UK locations; flexible working and part‑time considered.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement architectural strategies, governance, plans, and procedures to ensure high‑quality software delivery.
  • Design and manage all solution architecture activities, including functional, non‑functional, and integration aspects.
  • Work with a team of developers, providing guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with Development Teams and Product Owners to coordinate the delivery of solutions.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation related to architectural activities.
  • Ensure alignment of architectural activities with other lifecycle activities such as requirements analysis, design, and implementation.
  • Participate in daily progress meetings, presenting architectural improvements and developments.
  • Manage tools development and configuration management activities.

Qualifications

  • Experienced architect ready to move from being an individual contributor to supporting teams, or already leading architectural teams to ensure quality across the development or product lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of low‑code platforms (e.g., PowerApps, Appian) and Python programming.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design techniques and best practices.
  • Experience in solution planning, analysis, design, and implementation.
  • Familiarity with integration tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
