Specialist Diabetes Podiatrist

The closing date is 19 August 2025

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Diabetes Podiatrist within Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital to further develop and work within a multi-disciplinary foot team (MDfT) service for patients with diabetes in the London Boroughs of Bexley & Greenwich. This post will require working between Guy's & St. Thomas' Hospital, Queen Mary's Hospital Sidcup, and Queen Elizabeth Greenwich sites.

The aim is to build on existing MDfTs in these Boroughs to develop a South East London Diabetes Foot Network with local MDfTs operating in a hub and spoke model.

Outcomes such as the impact on in-hospital length of stay and reduction in patients undergoing major and minor amputations among the diabetes population in SE London will be used as success indicators.

The successful candidates must have sound knowledge and specialist skills necessary to work in this environment, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care within a multi-disciplinary model. Advanced specialist knowledge of podiatry and wound care related to high-risk diabetes patients would be beneficial.
