Role purpose: The Supply Chain & Export Administrator plays a vital role in the Warehouse and Logistics office, performing essential administrative duties. The responsibilities include processing orders, coordinating with warehouse colleagues, internal departments, and couriers to ensure the efficient and timely shipment of orders. These efforts contribute to the smooth operation of the business and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities:
- Working alongside the Central Operations Teams to ensure all orders are processed according to schedule deadlines. Drop pick labels to the floor and allocate carrier notes throughout the day. Handle requests for consignment details and PODs, investigating missing consignment numbers using a query order checklist.
- Action tasks on the Task Manager system, including shipment requests, quotes, and other internal requests.
- Create purchase orders for delivery services promptly.
- Liaise with couriers regarding bookings, including specialist deliveries or same-day shipments.
- Handle requests for consignment numbers and proof of delivery (PODs), investigating any unavailability.
- Assist sales and customer service with delivery queries and escalate as needed.
- Support scheduling SCC Transport and liaise with drivers to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with export activities and undertake external training to become proficient in export regulations.
Skills and experience:
- Proficient in computer use
- Excellent telephone manner and effective communication skills
- Ability to obtain necessary security clearances as per role requirements
- Strong work ethic
- Customer-focused and proactive problem solver
- Warehouse experience is a plus but not essential
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Organized with effective time management skills
- Problem-solving ability
