Help us to make a world of difference
Urenco is a global leader in the production of low carbon energy. We work at the cutting edge of the transition to a sustainable, net zero world.
We’re looking for a Tax Manager, Compliance & Reporting. Based at our Paddington site, Urenco’s Tax Compliance & Reporting team consists of four roles, including this vacancy. Your key responsibility will be to support the Head of Tax Compliance & Reporting in performing the Group’s UK tax compliance and reporting, focusing on current and deferred tax reporting and forecasting for the worldwide group, as well as UK corporation tax compliance activities. You will manage tax aspects of the interim and year-end reporting, support the Group’s budgeting and business plan forecasts, and review complex UK CT return aspects.
You will take ownership of UK CT returns, optimize group relief, CIR, and deduction allowance claims, and oversee the annual SAO review and certification. The role includes mentoring a Tax Assistant Manager and Tax Analyst trainee.
At Urenco, we’re committed to providing opportunities to be your best. If you meet some, but not all, of the criteria, please still apply. We offer market-leading training, development, and mentorship from industry experts.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare UK corporation tax returns, supporting memos, claims, elections, and tax proof for review.
- Collaborate with local finance teams for tax support.
- Oversee quarterly UK instalment payment calculations.
- Prepare analyses and disclosures for IFRS interim and full-year results, and UK subsidiaries’ accounts under FRS101.
- Liaise with external auditors for tax audits.
- Draft technical papers on tax positions, deferred tax assets, and Group transactions.
- Manage the annual SAO certification process.
- Maintain tax compliance documentation.
- Assist with WHT compliance.
- Handle Country-by-Country reporting requirements.
Requirements to thrive:
- ATT, CTA, or ACCA / ACA qualification or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of UK CT compliance and worldwide reporting experience for large MNEs.
- Experience with IFRS tax accounting and technical memos.
- Experience in broader UK tax compliance is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong commitment, thoroughness, and pride in work quality.
- Good interpersonal skills and professionalism.
What we offer:
- 27 days annual leave.
- Performance-based bonus scheme.
- Defined contribution pension scheme (employee 4%, employer 10%).
- Hybrid working (up to two days remote/week), flexible hours, early finish on Fridays.
- Flexible benefits including life assurance and income protection.
- Paid volunteering leave.
- Private medical and dental insurance options.
- Training and development opportunities tailored to your needs.
We value diversity and inclusion. If you require reasonable adjustments during recruitment, let us know.
How to Apply
Urenco encourages applications from all backgrounds. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement, apply anyway. You might be the perfect fit for this or other roles. Our recruitment process is managed by Morson Group, who will process your data on our behalf.
