Overview

Tax Manager: Ageas Insurance are looking for an experienced Tax Manager, to join the team to manage the internal and external tax compliance and reporting activities of the Ageas UK Group. The Tax Manager will also be responsible for onboarding new acquisitions and manage a range of both internal and external stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

  • To effectively and efficiently manage the tax affairs of the Ageas UK businesses, including providing input into wider Ageas group activities.
  • To manage the submission of Corporation Tax computations and returns, VAT returns and IPT returns to HMRC in accordance with relevant legislation and within time limits.
  • To ensure that tax disclosures within the year-end accounts are calculated in accordance with relevant legislation and accounting standards.
  • To assist Payroll and HR with employment tax matters as required.
  • To be a primary point of contact with HMRC, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • To manage external relationships with professional tax advisors, external auditors, and other third parties in relation to taxation matters.
  • Onboard new acquisitions and manage a range of internal and external stakeholder relationships as part of tax and regulatory obligations.

Qualifications

  • An understanding of CT, VAT and IPT, as well as a broad knowledge of the relevant business environment and commercial awareness.
  • Qualified Accountant or tax advisor with a proven track record in a tax reporting capacity.
  • The ability to understand, evaluate and interpret various financial data and Tax Legislation.
  • Exhibits excellent written communication skills and must be articulate and confident in spoken communication.
  • IT literate, to include a good working knowledge of spreadsheet software, especially Microsoft Excel.
