Technical Business Analyst – Financial Services / FinTech

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join a growing financial services / fintech business in Manchester, focusing on collections systems and financial compliance software. This is a hybrid role, providing the opportunity to work closely with business teams, IT, and compliance functions to ensure technology solutions deliver real business value while meeting regulatory and operational requirements.

About the Role

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will act as a bridge between business operations and technology, helping translate complex requirements into actionable solutions. You will work on systems that support collections and compliance, ensuring processes are efficient, compliant, and scalable. You will also contribute to project delivery, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to understand strategic goals and operational needs.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for collections and compliance systems.
  • Support system implementations, enhancements, and integrations to improve efficiency and compliance.
  • Analyse system performance, data, and workflows to identify improvements and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, reports, and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with project managers, compliance, risk, and IT teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement, supporting change management and adoption of new systems or processes.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Strong experience as an IT Business Partner or Technical Business Analyst in financial services, fintech, or highly regulated environments.
  • Expertise in collections software and financial compliance systems.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable requirements for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience supporting projects from requirements gathering through to delivery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment (2 days per week in Manchester).
  • Experience in process improvement, automation, or system optimisations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards within financial services.
  • SQL or similar data analysis skills.
