Role – Technical Test Lead

Technology – Performance testing, C#, .Net & Energy trading

Responsibilities

  • Act as a validation and quality assurance expert and review the performance of existing systems.
  • Conduct requirement analysis, define performance SLA and benchmarks, define test strategy and design and lead execution to guarantee superior outcomes.
  • Design an optimal test environment to simulate real-time scenarios.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative high quality, defect-free solutions that meet client business needs.

Required qualifications and technology

  • 8+ years of experience in relevant roles.
  • Proficiency in C#; VBScript programming skills to create detailed, effective test scripts for performance evaluation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of application layers and how each layer impacts overall performance.
  • Understanding of APIs and microservices; ability to perform testing at API layer.
  • Knowledge of monitoring resources to evaluate performance.
  • Experience coordinating with stakeholders to define performance SLAs and benchmarks.
  • Experience examining performance test results to identify bottlenecks.
  • Experience in performance and API testing of Energy trading applications (upstream preferred).
  • Familiarity with code repositories (GIT, ADO, TFS); ability to checkout, modify, and commit changes.
  • Ability to build and deploy code to test environments using Maven, Jenkins or ADO.
  • Experience with Jenkins/ADO and Git branching strategies; able to understand and create CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining test scripts in Azure DevOps or TFS of any test management tool.
  • Aware of application monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, PerfMon, top, vmstat, iostat.
  • Hands-on experience with functional automation tools like Selenium or Playwright is a plus.
  • Understanding of different application types (web, thick client, product).
  • Knowledge of databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL and data models.

Critical thinking and communication

  • Ability to analyze scenarios and develop a performance test approach.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve conflicts within the team.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, speak with Product Owner, and elicit requirements by asking the right questions.

Preferred

  • Performance testing expert with experience in Energy Trading and risk management applications.
  • Strong experience in performance and API testing for Energy trading applications in upstream areas.
  • 8 years of hands-on performance testing experience using tools like VSTS, JMeter, Grafana, Splunk.
  • Ability to analyze and devise appropriate performance strategies to support customer needs.
  • Adaptability to evolving projects and collaboration with teams focused on next-generation testing technologies.
