About the Role At Softcat, our Specialist Sales team works closely with customers to deliver expert advice and solutions across key technology areas. As a Specialist, you’ll focus on one of these areas, becoming a go‑to expert for both customers and colleagues. Technology Towers
Cyber Security – Helping customers protect their data, systems, and people from cyber threats. Data Centre & Cloud (Hybrid Infrastructure) – Supporting customers in building and managing scalable hybrid infrastructure through cloud platforms and data centre services. Workspace (Digital Workspace) – Enabling flexible, modern working through ITAM, end‑user computing, support services, and collaboration tools. Networking & Connectivity – Delivering secure, reliable networks and connectivity to ensure seamless communication and performance. Data, AI & Automation – Helping organisations harness data, automation, and AI to improve insights and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Research potential customers to shape and build new business. Provide internal consultancy to other Account Managers across our Corporate Sales teams. Develop market understanding, build relationships, and network to achieve KPIs. Deliver specialist technology insight that helps customers buy the right technology to solve their business challenges. Collaborate with your sales team, cross‑functional teams, and external partners to create a rich customer experience. Demonstrate company values and a keen entrepreneurial flare. Build and grow your own client base from scratch as a motivated self‑starter. Show enthusiasm to learn and develop knowledge of new and emerging technologies. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Build solid relationships internally and with potential new clients.
Qualifications & Skills
No prior experience or technical knowledge required – just ambition and willingness to learn. High level of verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build solid relationships with clients and internally. Motivated, self‑starter, quick learner, highly organized. Passion for sales and keen to develop your skill set.
