Overview

Test Manager role at The AA. Location: Basingstoke (hybrid working 3 office days per week). Employment Type: Permanent, full time.

What you will be doing

  • Define and implement a tailored testing strategy aligned with enterprise standards, ensuring quality and consistency across all projects.
  • Lead and coordinate testing activities across multiple systems and delivery methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Manage internal and external testing teams, including offshore and vendor resources, to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Drive the adoption and execution of test automation frameworks and tools, particularly for mobile device testing.
  • Provide clear and actionable test reporting and metrics to stakeholders, supporting continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with testing standards, timelines, and budgets while fostering a culture of quality and accountability.

What you need

  • Proven experience in test management across diverse delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Strong background in mobile device testing and test automation.
  • Experience with line managing onshore teams as well as working with third-party vendors and offshore individuals.
  • Proficient in tools such as Jira for test and defect management.
  • Familiarity with TDD, CI/CD, or DevOps practices is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A hands-on approach and a passion for quality.

Qualifications

  • ISTQB Foundation certification required.
  • ISTQB Test Management certification is desirable.
