OverviewMove the Masses is a York-based charity supporting people to get active and improve their wellbeing and health. We are looking to recruit new trustees to our board to help support and guide the charity into the future, shaping our strategy and providing expert guidance to our paid team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a passionate team influencing the direction of Move the Masses and helping to make a measurable difference in improving the wellbeing of our communities.We received the Kings Award for Volunteer Service and want to keep building on what we have achieved to impact as many people as possible.What difference will you make?You will support the organisation to continue the great work it does in the community and help set strategy and governance to enable Move the Masses to reach more people who would benefit from being more active.What are we looking for?experience of business or charity management & development;experience of commercial or charity fundraising, bid writing & income generation;experience of CRM or application development;experience as a volunteer;previous trustee experience.What will you be doing?Are you looking for an impactful and rewarding volunteering opportunity? Would you like to help set the strategy, guide the governance and support the work of Move the Masses now and into the future?We are a York-based charity and you do not necessarily have to be based in York to apply — we are a remotely based board with online meetings and will consider candidates from across the UK.Our current Board of Trustees has identified a desire to enhance the existing range of skills and experience on the Board by recruiting two or more additional Trustees, including a Treasurer. We would particularly welcome applications from people who currently walk with Move Mates, either supported walkers or volunteers.What does the role involve?The Board meets four times a year online in the early evenings with additional meetings by exception. Trustees may also undertake some additional duties by negotiation. The role will require a commitment of approximately 8 hours each month.This is an unremunerated position, although expenses are payable.
