JOB TITLE: UX Designer (12-Month FTC)

LOCATION(S): London

SALARY: £70,929 - £78,810

HOURS: Full-Time

DURATION: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, with at least two days per week, or 40% of time in the London office

Responsibilities

  • Craft the end-to-end user experience, bringing together a cohesive journey step by step, creatively using components from a central design system to balance content and UI elements on screen.
  • Bring designs to life predominantly using Figma and other prototyping/design tools such as Axure and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Balance business requirements with user needs by gathering user research and rationale to align stakeholders on individual user needs; diplomatically push back when necessary to act in the customer’s best interest.
  • Be adaptable to the technical constraints of different platforms while providing guidance on creating the best possible end-user experience.
  • Advocate customer inclusion by delivering inclusive and accessible designs usable by customers of diverse ages, backgrounds and technical abilities.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with working in a complex landscape; ideally experience in agile ways of working across multiple teams.
  • Demonstrable experience in User Experience design/Interaction Design.
  • Strong experience as an Interaction Designer or UX Designer (or from a joint UX/Visual Design background).
  • Full ownership of the Interaction Design project.
  • Excellent prototyping and layout skills, with ability to articulate designs to internal customers and development teams.
  • Comfortable using existing design systems and proactively recommending improvements to benefit the project and other designers.
  • Ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative research and apply insights to the interaction design process; access to dedicated user research insights.
  • Experience in financial services is preferred.
  • Collaborative mindset to work closely with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong ability to see designs through to delivery and communicate with developers to ensure designs meet specifications for a broad range of users.
  • Strong advocacy of customer inclusivity and accessibility.
