Your designs will advocate for simplicity, accessibility, and effectiveness, grounded in evidence-based research and organisational objectives.Key responsibilities:Develop and implement design practices and standards consistent with government or client guidelinesIdentifying, developing and using best practice and standards to design services consistent with the rest of government or our client organisationsCollaborating within a multidisciplinary team by sharing design work, and participating in researchAdvocate for user needs, crafting accessible and responsive servicesCreate wireframes and prototypes to test and refine ideas based on user feedbackMap user journeys and visualise design challenges collaborativelyEngage in and contribute to the design community within Methods and across government and client entitiesPursue continuous learning to enhance skills and knowledge in digital designEssential skills and experience:Strong communication skills, capable of presenting ideas clearlyProficient in visual and interaction design, creating user-friendly interfacesExperience with prototyping, user research, and evidence-based design decision-makingFamiliarity with HTML, CSS, and responsive design principlesKnowledge of coding interactive prototypesExperience working with tools such as Figma, Miro, Github, NotionExperience working in an agile development environmentFamiliarity with the GDS/GOV.UK style guide and service design standardUnderstanding of accessibility standards and designing for diverse user needsQualifications:Relevant industry experience in digital or interaction designThis role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website Gov.UK. If you are unable to meet this and any associated criteria, then your employment may be delayed, or rejected.
