Overview

Our SaaS client is well-positioned in the Health & Life Science space, rapidly growing, and seeking a new Vice President of Engineering! Reporting to our CTO, the VP of Engineering will define and implement the product roadmap, software and/or hardware. They will drive the technical vision, oversee product development, and leverage a strong background in architecture to anticipate industry risks and the technology choices to be made. This is a pivotal leadership role as we continue to grow, so we are seeking a passionate technologist with a successful track record of scaling engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an overall engineering strategy aligned with company-wide business objectives
• Lead and manage diverse engineering teams – software, DevOps, etc. – fostering continuous improvement, innovation, and culture of high performance
• Oversee all aspects of software development, including architecture, design, development, code reviews, and QA
• Implement best practices in engineering processes, agile methodologies, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, sales, and marketing to ensure successful product delivery and high level of customer satisfaction
• Mentor and develop engineering leaders, enterprise architects, and other technology team members, promoting career growth and furthering technical expertise
• Stay abreast of Tech/SaaS industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic direction of engineering teams
• Manage project and team budgets, resources, timelines, and deliverables for engineering initiatives

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering with 5+ years in a leadership role
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience required
• Strong understanding of software engineering concepts – development methodologies, architecture, best practices, code reviews, application security, etc.
• Background in Microsoft/.NET stack preferred – C#, .NET Core, SQL Server, Azure services, etc.
• Understanding of other enterprise technologies and their application – Snowflake, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Docker, etc.
• Adept at building and scaling engineering teams within SaaS environments
• Demonstrated ability to drive technical innovation and solve complex technology problems in the industry

Compensation

Base pay range: $230,000.00/yr - $270,000.00/yr
