WINEP Project Manager - Senior/Principal (Water Resources)

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior/Principal Project Manager to manage WINEP water resources investigations within the Catchment Science team of the Sustainable Water Management Consulting group. The role supports AMP8 with delivering high-quality technical assessments and reporting, working with hydrogeologists, hydrologists, geomorphologists and hydro-ecologists.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the delivery of robust technical assessments and high-quality reporting across the Sustainable Water Management and Aquatic Ecology teams.
  • Lead day-to-day client and regulator engagement for delivery of WINEP investigations.
  • Project management including financial and change control and quality assurance through checking and reviewing.
  • Collaborate with Service Area leads to develop and deliver the pipeline of WINEP projects.
  • Generate high-quality bid proposals and develop innovative solutions to meet clients\' needs.
  • Promote a \"safety first\" attitude in line with WSP\'s health and safety policy and procedures.

What we are looking for

  • Experience of managing WINEP investigations or similar, including project and technical management, with ability to coordinate a wider team of experts to deliver robust technical assessments.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and expectations of WINEP investigations, particularly regarding the Water Framework Directive.
  • Experience in projects involving assessing impacts of abstraction on the water environment; ability to work with technical experts to deliver projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify and develop business opportunities and prepare winning proposals.
  • Excellent report-writing and technical review skills.

Qualifications

  • MSc and/or BSc in a relevant discipline (e.g. earth sciences, environmental science, geography).
  • Gained or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body.
