2026 Graduate Programme - Energy - Networks
We are recruiting graduates for the Energy Networks (Transmission & Distribution) team. You will join a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory services consultancy, with a collaborative environment across diverse clients and projects. The programme is designed to support your personal and professional development through a blended learning experience.
Locations for this team include Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle and London.
Responsibilities
- Engineering Design Support: Assist senior engineers with the design of electrical and civil components for transmission and distribution projects, including substations, overhead lines, and underground cable routes.
- Feasibility Studies: Conduct site surveys, analyse data, and help identify effective and sustainable engineering solutions.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications documenting design choices, calculations, and project progress.
- Site Visits and Inspections: Visit project sites to survey existing infrastructure, monitor construction progress, and ensure safety and quality standards.
- Project Management Assistance: Support project managers with scheduling, cost tracking and risk assessment.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in communications with clients, contractors and other stakeholders to coordinate activities.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards and engineering technologies.
What You Will Do and the Team
As a Graduate in Energy Networks you will work on exciting projects that contribute to the nation’s energy future, focusing on robust power networks and the integration of renewable energy to support the UK’s net-zero transition. Projects may include contributions to National Grid initiatives and other major infrastructure programs.
Graduate Development Programme
Our two-year Graduate Development programme supports personal and professional growth through core business and professional skills training, mentoring for professional registration, networking opportunities and on-the-job experience.
What We Will Be Looking For
- You’ll have graduated with at least a 2:2 in a master’s degree in a relevant subject.
- Candidates must complete the application form in full and may be required to complete an online assessment as part of the recruitment process.
- Start dates available in April or September 2026.
- Demonstrated passion for engineering and consulting, and an interest in Energy Networks.
- Creativity, problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate with others.
