We are looking for graduates for our Energy Networks (Transmission & Distribution) team with a flexible approach and an appetite to learn in a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory services consultancy. You will be part of a collaborative environment working for a diverse range of clients and projects, contributing to the nation’s energy future.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering Design Support: Assisting senior engineers with the design of electrical and civil components for transmission and distribution projects, including substations, overhead lines, and underground cable routes.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conducting site surveys, analysing data, and helping identify effective and sustainable engineering solutions.
  • Technical Reporting: Preparing and compiling technical reports, drawings, and specifications documenting design choices, calculations, and project progress for clients.
  • Site Visits and Inspections: Visiting project sites to survey existing infrastructure, monitor construction progress, and ensure work meets specifications and safety standards.
  • Project Management Assistance: Supporting project managers with scheduling, cost tracking, and risk assessment to help deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Assisting in communications with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate project activities and address technical queries.
  • Continuous Learning: Staying up-to-date with the latest industry standards and engineering technologies.

Projects and impact

  • Undertaking projects in a dynamic field with a focus on the UK energy transition, including infrastructure design to enable integration of renewable energy and the EV charging network.
  • Potential involvement in major programmes and landmark projects such as National Grid’s Great Grid upgrade and related grid connection work, battery storage projects, and other distribution network operator initiatives.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate

  • You will have graduated with at least a 2:2 in a master’s degree in a relevant subject for the role.
  • Applicants should be able to start in April or September 2026.
  • Passion for engineering and consulting; desire for Energy Networks; enthusiasm for creativity and problem solving; ability to inspire with new ideas.
  • Complete the application form in full and, if successful, complete an online Skill Enabler assessment as part of the recruitment process.
