Our Actuarial & Consulting Team: Isio’s Actuarial & Consulting team includes over 400 pensions consultants and actuaries advising clients across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.

What’s the role?

We’re looking for experienced consultants, either part or fully qualified actuaries, with relevant risk settlement experience to help grow this specialist team. You should have excellent pensions consulting and technical skills, a commercial outlook and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Day to day, you will be:

  • Supporting in the delivery of advice to clients – this may include managing key client projects directly, and/or supporting partners and directors to deliver to clients.
  • Working with and building relationships with clients, working as part of a team, and developing those around you.
  • Assisting in the development of new business with existing and new clients.
  • Technical aspects include understanding the pensions insurance industry and building relationships with insurers, developing client strategy to approach the insurance market, and preparing schemes to approach insurers.
  • Providing client advice on the right transaction to meet objectives and supporting clients in post-transaction processes through to wind-up.
  • There is opportunity to develop technical expertise and consulting skills to lead the delivery of broking projects for clients as you progress.

There will be opportunities to engage in various areas of de-risking consulting and to work with a wide range of clients in the Insurance Team, collaborating with other specialist teams to achieve the best outcomes.

Where is the role?

The Risk Settlement team is based across many UK offices with locations including Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Croydon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester and Reading. We work on a hybrid basis, with time split between office and home. Isio emphasises strong community through regular team events and activities.

Key skills and experience

We’re looking for new colleagues with the following skills and expertise – but we’ll consider each application on its own merits. Diversity of experience is valued.

  • Experience – A part or fully qualified actuary FFA/FIA with relevant risk settlement industry experience.
  • Technical expert – understanding the pensions insurance industry and using this to help develop the right strategy and support the execution of transactions for good client outcomes.
  • Great communicator – able to explain complex problems clearly to all stakeholders.
  • Enthusiasm and motivation – strong desire to solve problems and deliver excellent advice.
  • Excellent project management and client delivery skills – especially when balancing multiple demands.
  • Great team worker – either as part of a team or managing a team, depending on experience.
  • Commercial skills – to help develop the business and identify new opportunities.
