This is not a traditional project management role. We are looking for skilled agile delivery managers with experience delivering software in an agile environment. The role is within Bereavement & Care, a community of around 100 professionals delivering digital services for key life events. You will be accountable for one of seven teams and contribute to the broader delivery community.

You will enable a multi-disciplinary team through different phases, using fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions used by millions of users. Our focus is on individuals and interactions, values and behaviours, with the user at the centre of everything we do.

Our Agile Delivery practice is thriving with over 200 members, and new joiners and long-time members benefit from strong support and collaboration, plus opportunities for learning in various forms.

Responsibilities

  • Enable a multi-disciplinary team through different phases of delivery.
  • Identify blockers and determine the best ways to remove them to keep delivery moving.
  • Coach, lead and empower team members; foster a healthy team culture and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and ensure alignment with user needs and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the broader delivery practice and community across DWP Digital.

Technical Statement

  • Describe your experience of delivering software at pace in an agile environment.

Personal Statement

  • Demonstrable experience of agile principles and practices.
  • Influential and able to lead a team while promoting a healthy team culture, managing team dynamics and fostering a continuous improvement environment.
  • Experience of leading and building stakeholder relationships.
  • Proactive approach to learning and development of yourself and others.

Details, Wages & Perks

Location: One of our digital hubs in Birmingham, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.

Hybrid Working: Hybrid model – some time at home and some time in a hub.

Pay: Up to £46,547.

Pension: Civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%.

Holidays: Generous leave starting at 26 days, rising to 31 days; up to 3 extra flexi-time days per month; plus public holidays.
