The role holder will support multiple projects in a structured but pragmatic way to help maximise the ability to deliver change.About The RoleTo utilise best practice Business Analysis techniques, skills and behaviours to support one or more projects which will deliver changes and improvements across the FGH business.AccountabilitiesExhibit solid and comprehensive business analysis skills, including the ability to think in a clear and structured way, and to bring clarity and structure where there is complexity and a lack of understanding.Work with a range of different stakeholders and navigate through complex issues to get to a conclusion, bringing stakeholders with you as much as possible.To develop documents at an appropriate level of detail and to agreed quality standards, particularly in Word, PowerPoint and Excel, but other formats where required.Work with PMs and VDO to adopt a pragmatic approach to supporting projects. Some projects will receive a more “light touch” level of support from the BA team and others will require more rigour, so the role will need to be flexible and willing to take this into account.Support or lead in workshops where required. The support required may include, as a guide, the following activities:Designing a workshop structure to achieve a particular outcome.Lead the attendees through the workshop being clear on what is required of them.Make use of collaborative tools, such as Miro, to help maximise the effectiveness of the workshop.Taking clear notes, capturing actions, requirements, risks or issues or other items.Contributing to the discussion in the workshop to ensure gaps or issues are raised and addressed and to share knowledge and opinion depending upon level of knowledge in the area.Generally be prepared to take a supporting or lead role, depending upon the need. Working with the PM on your projects, you may be asked to take ownership for specific deliverables or activities, and you will need to be comfortable working to a brief, rather than be spoon fed specific tasks to carry out.Through working on your project or projects, and working with other stakeholders, such as business SMEs, architects, developers and others.When required, support the Business Architect in developing a Business Architecture which captures essential aspects of the business using the knowledge you build up in your role.Play an active role in UAT to ensure test plans align with requirements/designs and any changes or defects are fully understood and impact assessed.Be comfortable with and have experience of all or most of the below:Capturing and documenting business processes to an agreed standard, using agreed tool (likely to be Miro or draw.io).Capturing and documenting business requirements, including supporting MOSCOWing, tracing through solution and testing, and generally ensuring that scope is delivered as agreed.Working with business stakeholders to capture Business Change assets, such as Business Change Impact analysis items, Training Needs, Process Changes etc, which will drive business led change as part of implementation of a project.Carrying out Root Cause Analysis to support business in identifying business change needs.Facilitating and contributing to formal document review, both by providing structured and clear feedback, and by coordinating the feedback of others and tracking to ensure all comments have been addressed. Employ clear quality criteria in doing this which may be provided or you may need to develop to ensure a consistent, high quality outcome.Essential (About You)Able to commute to Bradford City CentreCompetent user of Word and PowerPoint to create high quality deliverables and assets.Proficient user of Excel as a key tool in the Business Analyst’s bag. Specific skills are:Ability to capture data in a structured way using tables and lookups where appropriate.Ability to sort and filter data.Ability to summarise data using Pivot Tables.Ability to visualise data using the appropriate chart or graph.Ability to carry out simple automation or data processing tasks using formulae, particularly lookup functions.Basic commercial understanding of business and retailing.Previous role held, work placement or part‑time role in a commercial or retail environment.Hands on and practical, as well as strategic.Confident communication skills, able to engage stakeholders and peers effectively.Must be capable of researching complex issues from scratch and to assist in the production of recommendations at director and senior management level.DesirableAdvanced Excel user.Basic competence in use of a database package such as Access or more advanced.Good understanding of retailing, markets, customer groups.6 Months plus experience in a commercial environment.About UsFor over 100 years, Freemans has been at the forefront of home shopping, delivering quality products and exceptional service.
