Overview

We're looking for a Business Continuity and Resilience Officer to help drive our Operational Resilience Programme. You'll work closely with teams across the business to ensure solid Business Continuity Plans are in place and to support broader resilience efforts. Hastings Direct is a digital insurance provider with ambitious plans to become the best and biggest in the UK market. Responsibilities

  • Work with teams across the business providing guidance to help them create and update Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), ensuring they are practical and effective.
  • Offer training and advice on what good business continuity looks like.
  • Map out processes and assess potential customer impact to support resilience work.
  • Lead the network of business continuity champions and ensure clear expectations are communicated.
  • Carry out due diligence on third-party suppliers.
  • Keep policies, standards, and guidance documents up to date.
  • Support the Senior Operational Resilience Manager and Risk Director to grow and improve resilience and continuity programmes.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience in business continuity, operational or tech resilience—ideally in UK Financial Services and in a 2nd line or assurance role.
  • Good understanding of UK Financial Services regulations.
  • Confident reviewing and challenging continuity plans and test outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail.
  • Excellent communicator who can work with people at all levels.
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical advice.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable using Excel, PowerPoint, and risk management tools.
