Business Development Manager - Technical Consultancy (Hybrid, UK)
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 + Bonus & Comprehensive benefits
Location: Hybrid (East Yorkshire/North Lincolnshire & Midlands considered)

We are hiring a Business Development Manager to lead the commercial growth of a fast-growing consultancy with established technical credibility. You will inherit a loyal client base and help shape the company's commercial strategy for its next phase of growth.
This is a retained assignment, managed exclusively by Consortium, representing a strategic, long-term hire for our client. You will build meaningful relationships, cross-sell effectively, and unlock growth across energy, civils, renewables, and asset inspection sectors.

- You will lead rather than follow. This is the company's first dedicated commercial hire, and you will help craft the strategy.
- You will inherit trust from clients and delivery teams who value long-term, consultative relationships.
- You will work across high-impact sectors including renewables, civils, and inspection, with access to major frameworks and public/private clients.
- You will operate autonomously with hybrid working, outcome-focused support from senior leadership.
- This is a prioritized, retained role focused on delivery, not benchmarking.
Key responsibilities:
- Grow strategic accounts through targeted cross-selling and relationship expansion
- Drive new client acquisition across energy, civils, and infrastructure
- Engage with senior-level buyers and technical influencers confidently
- Collaborate with in-house engineers and bid teams on proposals
- Develop and execute a credible long-term growth strategy
Ideal candidate profile:
- Experienced Business Development or Key Account Manager with a technical/commercial mindset
- Background in engineering, infrastructure, civils, or renewables
- Skilled in balancing farming existing accounts with strategic new business development
- Seeks a role with influence, not just sales targets
- Values autonomy, impact, and long-term engagement
Package & Benefits:
- £65,000 - £75,000 base salary
- Realistic OTE of £85,000 - £100,000+
- Hybrid working with travel to clients/HQ as needed
