Overview
MacGregor Black is partnering with a leading Housewares business to recruit a Business Development Manager. This is a permanent, remote position with the role based north of Leeds. Salary £30k per year. For more information, please contact Lewis Millican.
Key Responsibilities
- To manage sales in the territory, measured against LY and Budget, as a percentage variance.
- Maintain close working relations with clients through site visits to all shops/locations within the defined territory every 6 weeks; at planned store visits, complete a site check list. Measured through visit logs and meeting notes/actions.
- Build a communication network to keep all retailers in the region up to date with company and product updates.
- Meet with buyer/principal every quarter to review account performance using a standard template; document outcomes.
- Agree with account principals the marketing budget and plan for either the full year or 6 months in advance; manage spend in accordance with the plan.
- Maintain in-store brand standards and displays.
- Ensure all retailer sales staff are fully trained on selling our product ranges via in-store training and hosting two training sessions annually in the flagship store.
- Identify new business opportunities in the region and develop them into revenue streams.
- Create strategies with retailers to grow brand sales in the region.
- Build relationships with new clients, understand their needs, and develop proposals to address them.
- Pitch sales campaigns and new products to new and existing clients to ensure uptake.
- Attend trade and consumer events to develop sales and brand awareness.
- Create sales forecasts and work toward achieving them.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the company’s products, the competitive landscape and positioning.
- Analyze product sales in the region to identify key trends and provide display recommendations to retailers.
What We're Looking For
- Based north of Leeds
- Full driving license
- Excellent communication and account handling skills
- Strong networking skills to build relationships with prospective and existing clients
- Proficiency in using smartphones and digital technologies to enhance communication
- In-depth knowledge of sales strategy, product demonstrations, and sales reporting
- Public speaking skills
- Ideally has contacts with the UK multiples
