Location: Darlington, UK (Hybrid with remote working and occasional travel to London)

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and organised Business Support Manager to provide high-level support to the C-suite and Directors, while also managing the smooth running of our Darlington office. The role will focus on travel coordination, scheduling of meetings and events, governance support, and ensuring the leadership team has the tools and information they need to deliver.

This is a key enabling role within the business, combining executive support, office oversight, and event coordination. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, handling confidential information, and ensuring projects and meetings run seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate travel arrangements for the C-suite and directors
  • Assist in scheduling meetings (but not full diary management), ensuring availability and logistics are aligned
  • Schedule and minute leadership team meetings, tracking actions and ensuring follow-up
  • Assist in organising board meetings, including logistics, documentation, and liaison with directors

Governance & Event Coordination

  • Organise shareholder, project, and stakeholder meetings/events, including logistics, catering and on-site support.
  • Support the scheduling of board meetings including distribution of board papers and briefing materials
  • Ensure confidentiality and discretion at all times.

Office Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Darlington office, including facilities, suppliers, and visitor management
  • Act as local point of contact for stakeholders and partners
  • Ensure the office is a professional, efficient environment for the leadership team and visitors.

Other

  • Occasional travel to London to support leadership and board meetings
  • Provide flexible support to the C-suite and directors as required.

Candidate Profile

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a business support, EA, PA, or office management role, ideally working with senior leadership
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • Confident minute-taking and producing clear action logs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
