Responsibilities

• Lead complex procurement projects, managing multi-disciplined teams to achieve a common outcome, and provide guidance and supervision to Procurement Officers assigned to support projects.
• Ensure the council’s procurement processes meet key legislative and policy requirements, including Public Procurement rules, transparency, and social value considerations.
• Ensure all of the council’s procurement processes meet the objectives set out in the current Procurement Strategy.
• Take responsibility as directed by the Head of Procurement to act as a Theme Lead and contribute to the successful delivery of one or more of the Procurement Strategy pillars.

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications and Experience)

• Strong understanding of public e-tendering and procurement regulations, including a recent working knowledge of The Procurement Act 2023.
• Previous experience in environmental services or similar category areas.
• Excellent stakeholder and project management skills.
• Expert knowledge of strategic sourcing tools and techniques.
• A proactive, adaptable approach and a passion for learning.

The salary range for the role is £58,248 to £61,617.
