OverviewRole: Commissioning EngineerSector: Offshore WindLocation: Home based but will need to be flexible with site visits and vessel visits required, in addition to attendance at the Glasgow office on occasionStart Date: ASAPDuration: 6-Months + Possible ExtensionClearance: Proof of Right to Work in the UKClient: Carbon60, Glasgow, United KingdomResponsibilitiesResponsible for the overall coordination, management and execution of commissioning for the mechanical and electrical systems at the onshore & offshore substations and export cable, including commissioning onshore at the assembly/construction sites. Early engagement with the project team and EPC contractor to ensure a plan is agreed for onshore commissioning activities on the transmission assets aboard the platform pre-sailing. A key interface will be the offshore sub station commissioning engineer. The array cabling will also be within this position's responsibility. From time to time this position will cover for the Commissioning Manager.Coordinate and manage commissioning activities within HSE, QA/QC, project, contractors and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) guidelines/requirements. Prepare and review commissioning procedures and RAMS. Participate in HAZOP and HAZID studies.Plan, organise, monitor and support site activities to ensure safe, full and effective use of resources and that construction of the project is achieved within budget and in accordance with Company and/or client policies and procedures. Integrate ABB SCADA control systems with operator control and trading platforms.Lead and manage teams of engineers, supervisors, back offices and technicians to ensure motivation and efficiency. allocate tasks to commissioning teams including contractors.Plan and execute commissioning activities for the whole onshore and offshore sub-station transmission equipment including export cables and pre-commissioning onshore at construction/assembly yard.Manage the Project team and individual performance, ensuring training and development needs are identified and fulfilled and address wellbeing or performance issues promptly according to established procedures; represent the end client and JV Project locally and handle enquiries/complaints appropriately to maintain a positive company image.Qualifications / RequirementsFull GWOs (Sea Survival, Fire Awareness, First Aid, Manual Handling, Working at Heights)OGUK / RUK Medical & Chester SteRelevant technical education, for example an HNC/HND in engineering (ideally electrical engineering) or equivalentExperience coordinating commissioning activities and managing associated tasks in a managerial role5+ years of offshore wind farm construction, commissioning and/or operations experience in the UKIdeally, previously worked as an electrical engineer or senior authorised person at least 132 kVStrong personal drive and a robust sense of quality and professionalismEmployment detailsSeniority level: Not ApplicableEmployment type: ContractIndustries: Electric Power Transmission, Control, and Distribution #J-18808-Ljbffr
