About the Role
We are seeking a MEICA Commissioning Manager to take full ownership of the commissioning phase of a new build sewage treatment pumping station in Oxford. This is a sole commissioning role, offering autonomy and responsibility for ensuring successful project delivery. The role will begin with pre-commissioning involvement (1 day per week) leading up to the start of commissioning, before moving into a full-time, site-based position during the 8-week commissioning period. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional from either the clean or waste water sector, looking to apply their technical expertise on a high-value infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the commissioning of all MEICA systems for the new pumping station.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver commissioning activities to meet programme requirements.
- Act as the single point of accountability for commissioning - no direct reports, full responsibility.
- Review and validate design documentation, testing protocols, and commissioning plans.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Liaise with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure smooth delivery.
- Prepare commissioning records, handover documentation, and O&M support as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager / Engineer in MEICA projects.
- Background in clean water and/or waste water treatment systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation systems.
- Ability to work independently and take full responsibility for commissioning outcomes.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Local to Oxford or within a commutable distance (essential for site-based work).
- Flexibility to commit to part-time (1 day per week) during the pre-commissioning phase and full-time during active commissioning.
What’s on Offer
- Competitive package of Circa £700 P/D outside.
- Approx. 8-month fixed-term engagement, with the commissioning phase commencing January (5 days a week)
- Opportunity to play a key role on a high-profile infrastructure project.
- Hybrid working possible during pre-commissioning; full-time site presence required during active commissioning.
