Credit Controller (French & German speaking)

At WSP, we are looking for a Credit Controller to work hybrid from home and our modern offices. You will proactively manage a portfolio of clients, using your influencing skills to remove roadblocks preventing payment of invoices.

Responsibilities

  • Own an overseas debt ledger, resolving amounts from simple to complex debts
  • Build productive relationships across all levels of the business
  • Drive cash flow to meet targets for you and stakeholders
  • Assist stakeholders in using our Debt Collection Agency
  • Raise the profile of credit policies and Credit Management services
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely collection when colleagues are on leave

What you will achieve in your first year

Support engineers in the collection of payments for projects delivered to clients. Contact clients on the ledger to ensure invoices are received and objections to payment are overcome. Build relationships with key stakeholders across Finance and the operational business, joining calls with clients or debt review calls to push debts to a conclusion. Become a key member of the wider business team and an expert in collecting cash in the industry.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate

  • Credit Control / Accounts Receivable or related experience (Accounts Payable, Treasury, Cash Application, Billing)
  • Experience in a Professional Services environment or Engineering / Construction
  • Proficiency in English, French and German (spoken and written)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, time and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service focus

You should be comfortable contacting internal and external customers by telephone rather than email, and you should be able to write clear emails. You may be studying for CICM exams or another qualification and will be supported in development with WSP.

What’s in it for you

  • Work-life balance with hybrid working policy (two days from home, with opportunities to collaborate in offices)
  • Inclusivity and belonging with varied backgrounds encouraged
  • Health & Wellbeing support, including Thrive programme and access to Virtual GP services
  • Flexible arrangements, additional leave options, and bank holiday flexibility
  • Development opportunities, mentoring, and Chartership support
