Design Engineer

6 months initial contract

Location: Manchester, with 3 days onsite per week

Salary: Up to £500 per day

Our client seeks a Design Engineer to oversee design assurance, standards evolution, and strategic guidance across a portfolio of 300+ workplace and job centre projects. This is not a hands-on design role.

Essential criteria

• Professional qualification in Architecture or Interior Design (experience in commercial/retail sectors preferred)
• Experience delivering large-scale workplace or public sector projects (job centres particularly relevant)
• Knowledge of inclusive design principles and accessibility standards
• Ability to engage stakeholders effectively and present to senior audiences
• Experience developing and implementing design standards
• Thorough knowledge of UK Building Regulations and RIBA project stages
