Director of Operations

Location: Fully remote within the UK/EU (occasional travel for quarterly offsites). Reports to: CEO (exec team member).

Overview

We are looking to recruit an experienced, commercially savvy Operations Director to own four mission-critical areas of the SaaS business. You will be hands-on with systems and integrations (including hardware connectivity), convert data into action, and scale processes to ensure customer satisfaction. The Operations Director will play a key role in shaping the company’s growth strategy, improving processes, and ensuring a seamless link between commercial objectives and day-to-day delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance
  • Design and implement operational strategies, processes, and policies to support business growth
  • Oversee business-critical functions such as systems, customer delivery, supply chain, finance operations, and compliance
  • Analyse operational performance and provide regular reporting on KPIs, risks, and opportunities to the leadership team
  • Lead on systems and process improvements, including integrations and automation
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, partners, and key stakeholders
  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer excellence across teams
  • Support the CEO/Board in long-term strategic planning, forecasting, and investment decisions
  • Ensure health & safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management across the business
  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, developing talent and embedding best practice

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Operations Director, Head of Operations, or senior operational leadership role
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to analyse data and drive decisions based on insight
  • Track record of leading teams and implementing scalable systems and processes
  • Technically confident: able to oversee business systems, integrations, and hardware/software linkages where required
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability and hands-on approach to delivering solutions
  • Resilient, adaptable, and experienced in working in fast-paced, high-growth businesses
