This senior leadership role is suited to a driven, passionate individual with an established network and prior success in opportunity generation and sales.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Business Development: Leverage established networks across key sectors to identify, pursue and convert opportunities, including proposal development and contribution to sales and thought leadership.
• Engagement Delivery: Lead and own the delivery of Risk Consulting engagements (e.g., risk management, internal audit, UK Corporate Reform, SOX 404, controls transformation), ensuring projects are effective and deliver high-quality outcomes with potential sell-on work.
• Agility: Balance sales activity with engagement management and self-start with a proactive approach.
• Trusted Advisor: Serve as a first point of contact for clients navigating complex regulations (UK Corporate Reform, US SOX, Global Internal Audit Standards) and advise on how these impact internal controls and reporting obligations.
• Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding needs and delivering tailored solutions.
• Process & Controls Leadership: Lead across process and controls solutions and foster a positive team culture, nurturing talent and internal initiatives.
• Solution Development: Develop new and enhance existing risk and controls offerings, including governance, policies and strategies.
• Quality and Risk Management: Demonstrate compliance with quality and risk management principles.
• Business Acumen: Apply broad business understanding to financial, operational, compliance and strategic considerations.
• Learning and Development: Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team.
• Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal and client teams to drive integrated risk management solutions.
• Team Mentorship: Mentor and develop risk professionals, contributing to a positive team environment and growth.
• Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about regulatory changes, technology trends and risk best practices.
• Performance Excellence: Monitor engagement metrics and proactively address deviations to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Skills and Experience

You will be a trusted and inspirational Director with proven ability to balance sales activities and delivery of high-quality insights across risk, process and controls solutions, and foster employee engagement and development.

• Industry Expertise: Expertise in risk, processes and controls with the ability to flex across solutions and sectors.
• Business Development: Success in leveraging networks to identify and convert opportunities, with proposal development and thought leadership experience.
• Relationships: Experience building and maintaining relationships with C-suite executives and discussing complex risk solutions confidently.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK Corporate Reform and US SOX compliance, guiding clients on regulatory impacts.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills for executive reporting and stakeholder engagement.
• Leadership: Ability to inspire and develop team members and foster collaboration and growth.
• Ethical Standards: Commitment to ethics and integrity, complying with legal and regulatory standards.
• Proactive Learning: Self-starter with a commitment to continuous learning and growth.
• Adaptability: Ability to navigate changing regulatory environments and emerging risks.
• Audit & Accounting Experience: Experience in external audit and financial accounting to support strong control frameworks.
• Systems Expertise: Knowledge of core systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to identify control weaknesses and suggest improvements.
• Transformation and Digital Solutions: Experience in driving transformation and deploying digital solutions.

To qualify for this role, you should have

• Extensive experience in generating and leading risk, process and controls services at large, complex organisations.
• A relevant professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent).
• Significant experience delivering risk, process and controls solutions such as risk management, internal audit, controls transformation, SOX 404.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., UK Corporate Reform, SOX) and ability to guide clients on regulatory impacts.
