Director, Process and Controls, Risk Consulting – London. This senior leadership role focuses on opportunity generation and delivery within EY’s Risk Consulting Practice, helping clients navigate risk landscapes with technology-enabled solutions across risk management, internal audit, and controls transformation.

Risk management supports Boards and Executives in making informed decisions, delivering assurance over key risks, and driving transformations. EY partners with leading organisations to address critical challenges with integrated, strategic, tech-enabled end-to-end solutions. You will engage with senior client personnel to deliver high-quality outcomes that drive meaningful results.

Your Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director in Risk Consulting to join our Risk team. The ideal candidate will have a strong network and industry knowledge across risk consulting offers and sectors. You will lead complex engagements and guide our client portfolio across process and controls solutions. A proven ability to leverage industry networks to identify and convert opportunities, and to build relationships with C-suite executives, is required.

• Business Development: Leverage established networks across key sectors to identify, pursue and convert opportunities; participate in proposal development, contribute to additional sales, and produce thought leadership.
• Engagement Delivery: Lead and own the delivery of Risk Consulting engagements (e.g., risk management, internal audit, UK Corporate Reform, SOX 404, controls transformation); ensure projects meet client expectations and identify sell-on work.
• Agility: Self-starting and able to balance sales activity with engagement management.
• Trusted Advisor: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding on regulations (UK Corporate Reform, US SOX, Global Internal Audit Standards) and how they impact internal controls and reporting obligations.
• Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, understand needs, and create tailored solutions.
• Process & Controls Leadership: Lead across process and controls solutions; develop and nurture talent and foster a positive team culture.
• Solution Development: Develop new solutions and enhance existing offerings related to risk and control strategies, policies and governance.
• Quality and Risk Management: Demonstrate a track record of compliance with quality and risk management principles.
• Business Acumen: Understand the broader business context including financial, operational, compliance and strategic aspects.
• Learning and Development: Promote continuous learning and professional development; inspire and model growth for the team.
• Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal and client teams to drive integrated risk management solutions.
• Team Mentorship: Mentor and develop a team of risk professionals and contribute to a positive team environment.

• Industry Expertise: Expertise across risk, processes and controls solutions with agility to flex across solutions and sectors.
• Business Development: Demonstrated success in leveraging networks to identify and convert opportunities; experience in proposals and thought leadership.
• Relationships: Experience building relationships with C-suite executives and discussing complex risk solutions confidently.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK Corporate Reform and US SOX compliance; guide clients on regulatory impacts.
• Communication Skills: Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Leadership: Ability to inspire, nurture, develop and motivate teams; foster collaboration and growth.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience generating and leading risk, process and controls services at large and complex organisations.
• Relevant professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent).
• Significant expertise in delivering risk, process and controls solutions including SOX 404.
• Experience enabling regulatory compliance requirements (UK Corporate Reform, SOX, and other industry-specific regulations).
