Role Overview

• Location: Watford (3 days in the office)
• Package: £85,000 - £90,000 + benefits

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver the test environment strategy to support a wide range of projects across a complex architecture.
• Plan, configure, and maintain test environments to ensure reliability, stability, and availability.
• Build real-time dashboards for monitoring performance, software versions, and environment health.
• Manage release processes, deployment dependencies, and associated risks.
• Implement governance frameworks, ensuring the right level of access, security, and test data management.
• Partner with QA and development teams to improve deployment automation and support CI/CD adoption.
• Define KPIs, track efficiency, and maintain environment roadmaps.
• Act as a central point of coordination for environment scheduling, downtime planning, and stakeholder communications.

What You’ll Need

• We’re looking for a dynamic individual who brings energy, inspires confidence, and motivates teams to perform at their best.
• Proven background in environment and release management across cloud and on-prem solutions.
• Hands-on knowledge of web applications, APIs, and open-source technologies (Java, Apache, Tomcat).
• Strong experience across Linux, AIX, and Windows systems.
• Solid SQL knowledge (DB2, Oracle, MySQL).
• Familiarity with IT security concepts, APM tools, and AWS.
• Understanding of Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
• Experience with version control and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GIT, Subversion).
• Strong grasp of code branching, deployment automation, and test data strategies.
