Finance Director

St Albans, Hertfordshire, Hybrid

Up to £200,000

Partner Financial are delighted to be partnering with a dynamic and rapidly expanding technology company to appoint a Finance Director. This role will support the business’ continued growth and future ambitions.

As a senior member of the leadership team, the Finance Director will shape and implement the organisation’s financial vision, driving operational performance and delivering sustainable value. Acting as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Board, this individual will ensure strong financial governance, transparency and alignment with the company’s long‑term objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO and senior leadership team to execute strategic growth initiatives, including acquisitions and value creation projects.
• Elevate financial planning, reporting and control frameworks to support agile and informed decision‑making.
• Drive operational and financial performance through improved cost control, forecasting accuracy and data‑driven insight.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and KPI tracking to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
• Oversee cashflow management and working capital efficiency.
• Play a lead role in M&A activity, from opportunity assessment and due diligence to seamless post‑deal integration.
• Champion system enhancements and digital finance transformation, improving automation, insight and scalability.
• Ensure rigorous commercial and contractual governance, working with legal and operations to manage risk and optimise terms.
• Develop and mentor a high‑performing finance team, embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and experience

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with strong academic grounding.
• Proven success as Finance Director or CFO in a fast‑moving, high growth business.
• Strong understanding of M&A processes and investor reporting requirements.
• Commercially minded with the ability to link financial performance to business strategy.
• Hands‑on leader who balances strategic oversight with practical execution.
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, confident engaging at Board and investor level.
• Experience in professional services, technology or related sectors is advantageous.
