Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Universal Pictures International (UPI) is the International Distribution and Marketing division for Universal Pictures. In the United Kingdom, Austria, Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and China, UPI directly markets and distributes movies through its local offices, creating campaigns and release strategies that respond to the culture and market behaviour of those territories. Job Description

The UPI EMEA Finance team will play a key role supporting the EVP EMEA in managing the region. The team will work with HQ functions that are based in London (Marketing and Operations), it will work closely with the LA based finance team, as well as other corporate groups based in London and Amsterdam and the EMEA markets. UPI operates in a changing industry and it is expected that responsibilities will change and evolve to support the needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Key go to resource for SVP Finance & Operations
  • Manage EMEA P&L and title reporting, commercial analysis / decision support & OH management, including highlighting anomalies and following up on items to resolution.
  • Manage All-Rights analysis for EMEA, release / no release decisions and TV slot tracking, communicating any risks and opportunities to key stakeholders.
  • Partner with Media and marketing functions on EMEA marketing spend, and other marketing strategy initiatives and analysis, highlighting key trends and observations, and proposing appropriate recommendations
  • Partner with London based Marketing teams on cost tracking and management, including festivals and awards costs and liaising with LA appropriately
  • Lead the EMEA annual title budget process
  • Lead and manage a small team, including a Finance Analyst and Finance Intern, providing guidance, support, and development to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Work with LA FP&A team on pacing and close activities
  • Prints - ensure accurate and timely forecasting of print costs. Set up and management of Head Office print cost tracking and analysis
  • Support on regional performance analysis

Qualifications

About You

  • Experience in a commercial finance role, (within the media industry an advantage)
  • Experienced in leading and developing team members, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to enable high performance and professional growth.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing competing priorities and ensuring accuracy and completeness of all estimates.
  • Strong communication and business partnering skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships quickly.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Flexible and dedicated to meeting business needs, adapting to changing workloads and deadlines as necessary.
  • Professionally qualified (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA).
  • A self-starter, who has the tenacity to see the job through and deliver on goals.
  • Demonstrates continual curiosity and consistently seeks opportunities to drive process improvements and implement positive change.
  • Collaborative and able to influence stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
  • Confident and enthusiastic, with a positive approach that inspires others
