Finance Projects Manager (Fixed Term Contract) Sheffield (Hybrid working) The Finance Projects Manager will support the Finance team and wider business by delivering robust financial analysis, managing finance transformation initiatives, and leading on key finance-related projects. The role is a crucial bridge between finance, operations and technology, ensuring finance systems, processes, and reporting evolve in line with business growth and strategic objectives. Responsibilities
Lead and deliver finance transformation and improvement projects, including system upgrades, process redesign, and automation. Work with cross-functional teams to scope, plan, and implement finance-related projects. Support the Senior Finance Business Partner with change initiatives and ad hoc projects including acquisitions, integrations, and new business onboarding. Perform detailed financial analysis to support decision-making, highlighting risks and opportunities. Ensure financial controls are embedded into new processes and projects. Prepare business cases and post-implementation reviews for finance projects. Act as finance lead on key system implementations or enhancements (e.g., ERP systems, reporting tools). Support budgeting and forecasting cycles from a project standpoint. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and system vendors. Document processes and deliver training or knowledge sharing where required. Act as a key liaison between finance leadership, operational teams and data teams.
Skills & Experience
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or finalist with strong project experience – Preferred Proven experience working on finance change, transformation, or systems projects. Strong analytical and Excel modelling skills. Understanding of finance systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar). Strong organisational and communication skills. Excellent stakeholder management skills
