Role

This role is an amazing opportunity to drive our Geospatial development across the whole of the organisation, enabling our colleagues to deliver our challenging environmental ambitions.

We’re looking for an experienced GIS strategic thinker with a proven record of effective delivery. Our ideal candidate will combine a strong drive to modernise with a passion for improving the environment.

Supporting the GIS Manager and Senior Team Leader, you’ll be one of two technical leads for the team. This involves working with colleagues across the EA, DEFRA and external partners to evolve our Geospatial Services. You’ll also work with our excellent service leads to coordinate delivery.

The team

The National GIS Team provide Geospatial services and lead on their use in the EA. We deliver through a variety of tools including Easimap, our in-house GIS view and query tool, ArcGIS Pro and EAMaps, an ArcGIS Enterprise service. We also manage and support access to ArcGIS Online (AGOL). A joined-up, well-managed, modern suite of corporate services is essential for our users.

Experience/skills Required

  • Experience of delivering Enterprise Geospatial Services
  • Evidence of your ability to set a strategic direction and coordinate tactical delivery
  • The ability to work with a wide range of customers and partners
  • Experience of working with ESRI products
