At Ramboll, we offer a unique work environment built on openness, understanding, and respect. Our Nordic heritage drives our commitment to improving conditions for people and nature through our projects. As a foundation-owned multinational company, the profit we make is reinvested into the company to support employee development, fund research, charity, and humanitarian projects. Our aim is to be The Partner for Sustainable Change and to ensure your work makes a meaningful impact on people, communities, and the environment.
Our Early Careers Programme – EarlyCareers@Ramboll
We have designed a training program to boost your personal, commercial and technical development to kick-start your career with Ramboll. You will be paired with a mentor and have access to a clear framework for professional development. The Early Careers Challenge is a highlight of the graduate training, offering a chance to travel around the UK and work on a design project, while networking with peers.
About the Opportunity
The role provides the opportunity to become fluent in a wide range of environmental regulatory requirements as they apply to our clients. You will develop the skills to assess client operations for regulatory compliance and identify practical recommendations to improve performance or achieve compliance. You will undertake desk-based analysis and confirmatory site visits to support our environmental compliance assurance team and our environmental permitting team.
The role supports detailed technical applications for environmental permits, typically for industrial or commercial properties (e.g., data centres), with opportunities in the green transition space (hydrogen, EV, batteries, carbon capture). It offers a mix of desk-based and client site-based activities to gain an understanding of industrial and commercial facility operations from an environmental compliance and permitting perspective.
Additional opportunities include supporting the development of clients’ environmental and sustainability management systems, and circular economy and resource management initiatives.
Although the focus is Environmental Permitting, Management Systems and Compliance, graduates may spend some time in the Graduate ESG/EHS Due Diligence & Strategy Consultant role during their first two years to gain breadth of skills and experience. See more information about this role here:
