Overview

Opportunity for a Group Financial Controller to join a long-standing, family-owned business with strong values and ambitious growth plans in Liverpool. The role will oversee financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance & manage a small team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all group financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements and management accounts.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls and processes across the organisation.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making at the senior leadership level.
  • Ensure tax compliance and manage relationships with external auditors and advisors.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning activities.
  • Oversee cash flow management and treasury functions to optimise financial performance.
  • Lead and mentor a team within the accounting and finance department.

Profile

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and strong technical knowledge.
  • Experience in financial reporting, consolidation, and compliance within the financial services industry.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset to support business growth.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with senior stakeholders.

Job Offer

  • A competitive salary of up to £95,000 dependent on experience.
  • 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays, with the option to buy up to 5 additional days.
