Overview

We are looking for a Group Financial Controller to oversee global reporting, compliance, and financial control. This candidate will have experience of working within global organisations. This role is integral to driving high-quality financial management across multiple entities, while leading and developing a talented finance team.

Location: Sheffield, UK (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

Group Reporting & Compliance

  • Lead group consolidations for management and statutory reporting under IFRS.
  • Manage annual audits, internal controls, and compliance with international regulations.
  • Take full responsibility for Head Office entity accounting.

Tax & Treasury

  • Oversee corporate tax compliance and transfer pricing documentation.
  • Work with advisors on planning and optimisation initiatives.
  • Lead treasury operations, cash pooling, cash forecasting, and covenant reporting to lenders.

M&A & Integration

  • Support financial due diligence and integration of acquired businesses.
  • Lead purchase accounting and ensure alignment of reporting post-acquisition.

Systems & Processes

  • Oversee ERP (NetSuite preferred) and consolidation tools (e.g., Prophix).
  • Drive automation, process efficiency, and ensure data integrity across systems.

Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance control team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.

Candidate Profile

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with strong IFRS expertise.
  • Significant experience in senior finance roles within complex, multi-entity international organisations.
  • Multi-entity global environment
  • Proven background in group consolidations, audits, and corporate tax.
  • Strong treasury and cash flow management experience.
  • Hands-on M&A exposure including due diligence and integration (desirable).
  • Advanced ERP knowledge (ideally NetSuite).
  • (Desirable) Experience in private equity-backed environments.
