Salary: £80,000 - £89,000 (Dependent on office location and proven ability)

The role: As Head of Digital Workplace & Innovation, you will lead the transformation of how Connected Places Catapult works, collaborates, and innovates. You will champion user-centric digital solutions that empower teams, streamline operations, and enable data-driven decision making across the organisation. You will shape the technical direction of our digital workplace, align it with strategic goals, and deliver value to internal customers. You will lead a high-performing team, drive innovation through the Microsoft technology stack (including Dynamics, M365, Power Platform and CoPilot), and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver impactful, scalable solutions. You will demonstrate a strong customer focus, supporting colleagues with the tools and technology they need to deliver effective and collaborative solutions. The role includes management and oversight of the Digital team and introduction of new transformative digital innovations as we develop our Microsoft suite of products. Experience is critical in designing and delivering complex enterprise solutions built around the Microsoft technology stack, managing the team responsible for these technologies, and working with in-house specialists, external consultants, partners, and the wider business. The role works alongside an in-house corporate IT team handling infrastructure, service delivery, and cybersecurity.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Define and deliver the digital workplace strategy aligned to CPC's corporate objectives; shape the roadmap for digital tools, platforms, and services; provide strategic advice to senior leadership using data and insights.
- Customer Centric Innovation: Champion a customer-first approach to digital service design and delivery; lead continuous improvement of digital tools and processes based on user feedback, analytics, and service design thinking; drive innovation through automation, low-code/no-code platforms, and emerging technologies.
- Team Leadership & Development: Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing, inclusive team; foster psychological safety, experimentation, and continuous learning; set clear goals and support professional development.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee design, delivery, and optimization of enterprise solutions built on Microsoft technologies; collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and service delivery teams; manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to ensure value and strategic alignment.
- Collaboration & Influence: Work cross-functionally with business units, IT, HR, and external partners; ensure information is cascaded appropriately and confidentiality is maintained; contribute to inclusive innovation and sustainability across digital initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven strategic leadership experience in digital workplace and enterprise IT, with a track record of delivering Microsoft-based solutions.
- Experience managing teams responsible for Microsoft technologies (Dynamics, M365, Power Platform) and working with internal and external partners.
- Strong customer focus with ability to translate user needs into practical digital solutions.
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships; strong governance and risk management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
