Contract type/duration: Permanent. Band: 4.3. Reporting to: Director of Digital & IT. Salary: £80,000 - £89,000 (Dependent on office location and proven ability). Closing date: 24/09/2025.
Role
As Head of Digital Workplace & Innovation, you will lead the transformation of how Connected Places Catapult works, collaborates, and innovates. You will champion user-centric digital solutions that empower teams, streamline operations, and enable data-driven decision making across the organisation. This role is pivotal in shaping the technical direction of our digital workplace, ensuring it aligns with our strategic goals and delivers value to internal customers. You will lead a high performing team, drive innovation through the Microsoft technology stack (including Dynamics, M365, Power Platform), and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver impactful, scalable solutions. You will demonstrate a strong customer focus, supporting colleagues across the organisation with the tools and technology they need to deliver effective and collaborative solutions. The role will be responsible for the management and oversight of the Digital team and the introduction of new transformative digital innovations as we develop our Microsoft suite of products. Experience is critical in the design and delivery of complex enterprise solutions built around the Microsoft technology stack.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, delivery, and optimisation of enterprise solutions built on Microsoft technologies.
- Oversee the Digital team, working with in-house specialists as well as external consultants and partners.
- Collaborate with the in-house corporate IT team on infrastructure, service delivery, and cyber security.
- Define and deliver the digital workplace strategy aligned to CPC's corporate objectives.
- Shape and guide the roadmap for digital tools, platforms, and services that enhance productivity and collaboration.
- Provide strategic advice to senior leadership, using data and insights to influence decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement of digital tools and processes based on user feedback, analytics, and service design thinking.
- Foster automation, low-code/no-code solutions, and adoption of emerging technologies.
- Work cross-functionally with business units, IT, HR, and external partners to co-create digital solutions and ensure information confidentiality.
- Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships, ensuring value for money and strategic alignment.
- Ensure security, governance, and compliance across digital initiatives.

- Operational Excellence: Lead enterprise solutions delivery; manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships; collaborate with infrastructure and security teams.
- Collaboration & Influence: Work with multiple stakeholders to co-create solutions; ensure information cascades and confidentiality; contribute to inclusive innovation and sustainability.
- Performance & Change Management: Set clear goals, conduct regular feedback and reviews, and navigate change; organize work across multiple initiatives with effective prioritization.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use management information to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to inform commercial decisions.
- Culture & Inclusion: Build an inclusive culture that values diverse experiences and applies equality impact assessments across work at CPC.
