Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end finance function: build strong controls, deliver clean, timely reporting, improve systems and processes, and provide insight that helps leaders make better, faster decisions. You’ll lead a small team, coach well, and create a finance function that’s fit for scale.
  • Lead month-end close, management accounts and board-ready MI
  • Strengthen controls, compliance and cash management; own risk and governance
  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable, billing, credit control, fixed assets and the general ledger
  • Build and document scalable processes; drive automation where it matters
  • Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning with clear commentary
  • Partner with senior leadership team on performance, investment cases and scenario modelling
  • Support M&A integration and standardise processes across entities
  • Develop and mentor the team; set clear standards and rhythms

What We’re Looking For

  • A hands-on finance leader who enjoys ownership and pace
  • Comfortable bringing structure to ambiguity and growth
  • Commercial, curious, and confident challenging the status quo—kindly
  • A coach: you set the tone, raise the bar, and celebrate wins

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • 6+ years’ finance experience, ideally in SME/multi-site and/or care/people-centric settings
  • Proven month-end/reporting excellence and a control mindset
  • Track record improving processes/systems and leading small teams
  • Strong budgeting/forecasting, cash and working capital management

Package

  • Hybrid: Nottingham office + home
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, pension, on-site parking
  • Real autonomy, visible impact, supportive leadership
