Head of Project Management - £70,000 - £80,000 – London/South Coast

Can you stamp your mark on a team with lots of need for growth and improvement?

At the beginning, whilst you’re building the team, strategy, culture etc – there’s an expectation for the role to be hybrid (important you’re in and around your team driving culture and excellence), but once you’re up and running and the team are firing, then you can work from anywhere.

The company are opening an office on the South Coast and currently have an office in London, so someone who (at the beginning) can move between those offices is ideal.

If you’re looking for a role in which you can make a team your own, drive performance, increase professional/managed services revenues, build something special and have full autonomy over your Project Management function… the look no further.

This business have been building out their services arm organically over the last few years and now need a Head of PMO to help take them to the next level. They have an amazing new leadership team that have the desire to make this a genuinely special place to work and this PMO function is their final piece of the leadership puzzle. There’s currently 4 people in the team. So someone who is new to ‘out and out’ management but has done some team leading before could also work as the team wont be growing much bigger than that in the short term (although there are changes to be made)

Key Skills

  • Ability to lead, build and drive forward a Project Management function
  • Ensure smooth project lifecycle by working closely with other key leaders including Sales, Presales, Consultancy and Engineering.
  • Ability to bring teams together and adopt ‘one team’ mentality
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Team Leads, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, portfolio management, and resource planning.
  • Demonstrable track record of managing IT Projects and programs across broad technology stack including Cloud, Modern Work, DC, Network, Security.
  • Able to work on bid and tender processes, including pre-sales engagement.
  • Review sales bids ensuring accurate/realistic project delivery days are given
  • Review, track and report on project budgets, forecasts, and profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Data driven analysis and reviews on customers, team and get team on board with the importance of being data driven
  • Promote professional growth to teams across Project Management, ensuring high performance and driving staff satisfaction
  • Build plans for career development and succession planning – always giving your team something to strive for
  • Strive for perfection across team, aiming to complete all projects in time and to the highest possible standards
  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards, ensuring accurate visibility of project status and PM performance.
  • Assist in scoping new opportunities when needed, identifying risks and aligning sales/project team capabilities.
  • When needed, act as final escalation point for Project Management function
